This trip is a continuation of the “10th Summer Camp by AGA” which was held last summer with great success. Our official guests in Athens were the goalkeeper of Atletico Madrid and AGA, Dimitris Stamatakis, and the Head Coach of Goalkeepers of the academy of the Spanish champion, Mr. Curro Galan. Mr. Galan evaluated the participant goalkeepers, who are now in Madrid.

During this week, AGA will be hosted in the Atletico’s facilities. This confirms once again the excellent level of cooperation between the two sides. The 17 goalkeepers will be trained and evaluated in the training center of Atletico Madrid other Spanish clubs.

The goalkeepers are accompanied by the Head of AGA, Mr. Christos Lamprou, and the Director of the AGA Agency, Mr. Konstantinos Lamprou.

The Head of the Athens Goalkeepers Academy, Mr. Christos Lamprou, commented that he felt touched for the fact that the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper remains very close to the leading Goalkeeping Academy in Greece, which gave him the opportunity to make his dream come true with his transfer.

At the same time, he said that Mr. Galán was satisfied with the high level of the goalkeepers at the Camp, which means that some of them will visit Spain in the near future, for the 2nd phase of their evaluation.

The Director of AGA Agency, Mr. Konstantinos Lamprou, expressed his satisfaction for the presence of coaches and goalkeepers at the Camp.

AGA, the leading Goalkeepers’ Academy in Greece, sends its evaluated goalkeepers to the top clubs in Europe for tryouts every year, in collaboration with the best goalkeeping coaches in the world.

In 2019 the Athens Goalkeepers Academy and its Head, Mr. Christos Lamprou, visited the training center of Atletico Madrid, with 20 goalkeepers. Atletico’s staff liked very much Stamatakis and asked Mr. Christos Lamprou to keep him longer, for more intensive training.

As you see, members of its staff are videotaping Stamatakis’ exercises in order to analyze him, while he is being trained by the goalkeeping coach of Atletico’s Academy, Mr. Couro Galan. Those exercises were attended also by Diego Simeone (he is not appeared in the video)!

This is a huge achievement of the leading Goalkeeping Academy in Greece, as Atletico actually signed Stamatakis from AGA, where he was being trained for the last 5 years, while he did not belong to any club and did not play in any league!

This event is a clear proof of the huge confidence of the Spanish club in the talent of Dimitris, but also in the work of the Athens Goalkeepers Academy and its Head, Mr. Christos Lamprou.

A trust that proves to be very deep, especially considering the following: Atletico had decided to sign Stamatakis in May 2019, when AGA was in Spain with its evaluated goalkeepers, in order to have tryouts for clubs such as Atletico and Real Madrid. The transfer was delayed due to some problems, however, the Spanish club did not give up the case, but was constantly by Dimitris’ side and waited for him for 2 years, until they signed him.

Athens Goalkeepers Academy and AGA Agency, which is AGA’s player representation department, warmly thanks Atletico Madrid, Dimitris Stamatakis and all those involved in the transfer for the trust and the excellent cooperation.

This transfer is a great justification for the policy pursued by AGA, which is the only Academy in Greece that gives its evaluated goalkeepers every year the opportunity to have tryouts for the top clubs in Europe.
