The educational part of the 22nd trip of the Athens Goalkeepers Academy (AGA) abroad was successfully completed.
Madrid was the destination for Greece’s top Goalkeeper Academy from last Monday (9/9) until Sunday (15/9), when the young goalkeepers are scheduled to return to Greece.
During this time, the athletes had the opportunity to attend seminars and train at the sports facilities of Rayo Vallecano and Atlético Madrid, under the guidance of the goalkeeper coaches of both clubs.
The aim was for the goalkeepers from AGA and the collaborating GK Goalkeeper Academy, part of the Greek Goalkeeping Network, to get in touch with and become familiar with the Spanish training model.
At the same time, they had the chance to experience Spanish culture and gain unique experiences that help shape character, especially at younger ages.
From a competitive perspective, AGA’s Head, Mr. Christos Lamprou, received comprehensive feedback from the Spanish GK Coaches regarding the athletes’ level, in order to work with them in a targeted way over the coming months and ensure they are even more prepared for the next evaluation.
It is also worth noting that this trip took place just a few weeks after the completion of Stamatis Orphanos’ transfer to Atlético Madrid, following an evaluation he underwent through the Athens Goalkeepers Academy. Dimitris Stamatakis had followed a similar path in the past.
